~Taekwondo~

    TaeKwonDo is a kungfu form by the Korean and is also known as Korean martial art.

    Our group member, Mr. Yee Seng is going to share about:

    1. History - The oldest maritial art that was developed by the three rival kingdoms of Goguryeo, Silla and Baekjie cities in Korean. The most popular of Taekwondo techniques are subak, with taekkyeon of the segments of subak.
    2. Modern Development - During Japanese Occupation of Korea, Koreans were forced to adopt Japanese names and worship at Shinto shrines. Taekwondo is link to Japanese due to war efforts influence by the Japanese.
    3. Taekwondo is a very popular martial art all over the world with people of both genders and of many ages. Members typically wear their own uniform called dobok which is white in colour with a belt tied around the waist.
    4. Organizations - The two systems of it's respective organizations are International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) and World Taekwondo Federation which is well known in the world & also the biggest events associated with the Kukkiwon.
    5. Ranks or Belts - Taekwondo ranks separated into "junior" and "senior" group with 9 different ranks for example wearing different colours of belts. The brightest colour is the most junior rank and the darkest colour is the most senior. The colours in ascending order from lowest to highest rank are: white, yellow, green, blue, brown, black, 1st degree black, 2nd degree black then 3rd degree black which is the highest rank among all.
